T & C’s

PATCH TEST: Occasionally clients may develop an allergic reaction to the tattoo pigment used. You must have a patch test for pmu, smp, tint & Hypebrows at least 48 hours before treatment. This involves putting a small amount of the pigment onto your skin and observing if there is any rash or skin irritation. If there is any reaction you must inform Hype Cosmetics immediately. A normal patch test is a good indicator that you will not react to the pigment, but it cannot exclude all severe allergic reactions or anaphylaxis. Having a negative patch test does not guarantee that you will not a have a reaction.

RESULTS: Results vary between clients and results are dependent on many individual factors. Each procedure is a process requiring multiple applications of pigment to achieve desired results and 100% success cannot be guaranteed during the first procedure. More than one treatment is usually required to achieve or maintain desired results, most people require at least 2 treatments as a minimum. There is a possibility that you may never achieve your desired results. The true colour of pmu will not be seen until about 1 month after each procedure, and the pigment may vary per skin tones, skin type, age and skin condition. Some skin types accept pigment more readily and no guarantee on exact colour can be given. The actual colour of the pigment may be modified slightly, due to the tone and colour of my skin. Non-toxic pigments are used during the procedure and the result achieved will fade over time. Even once the colour fades, pigment itself may stay in the skin indefinitely. There are no guarantees however on the success or longevity of your treatment.

RISKS AND SIDE EFFECTS: As with any procedure there are potential risks and complications associated. You must be aware of all the following risks before proceeding with treatment. You must fully discuss any questions with your practitioner. Common complications and risks include: pain or discomfort either during or after the procedure. It is common for the skin of the treated area to appear red and swollen afterwards, you also may have some minor bleeding, bruising or scabbing, these effects can last up to 14 days but may last longer, it takes up to 6-8 weeks for cosmetic & permanent tattoos to fully heal. Uncommon complications and risks include: Skin infection (cellulitis) which can present as hot, red, shiny skin, there may be pus and you may also feel generally unwell. Infection is uncommon especially if you follow the aftercare advice. In the event of infection, you must see your doctor as soon as possible. For lip blush tattoos these can sometimes trigger reactivation of cold sores (herpes simplex virus infection). Some people may faint or feel faint with needles, if you feel unwell during treatment you must inform your practitioner as soon as possible. Other uncommon risks include poor cosmetic result, lack of result, rapid fading of colour, inconsistent colour and blown out/spreading of pigment. PMU tattoo pigments are semi permanent, they can be removed in the event of poor cosmetic result by correctional treatment or even tattoo removal such as laser. You must also inform your doctor or radiologist if you require an MRI scan as problems can occur with tattooed skin during the scan. Rare complications and risks include: unsightly hypertrophic or keloid scarring, delayed inflammatory nodule (granuloma) formation, skin reaction to local anaesthetic cream and allergic reaction. Despite a normal patch test, allergic reactions are still possible to the tattoo pigments. Allergy can present as swelling, red rash and sometimes blistering, however rarely anaphylactic reactions can occur. In the event of an anaphylactic reaction, you would need emergency medical attention. In the case of severe allergic or inflammatory reaction permanent scarring may result.

For chemical peels and microneedling common side effects include, mild to moderate discomfort or pain following the procedure, slight redness or swelling of the skin following the peel, increased sun sensitivity of the skin and general increased skin sensitivity. These effects can last up to 14 days as this is the skins healing time following the peel. Occasionally skin redness may persist for longer than 14 days. Less commonly pigment changes to the skin can occur, the skin may become lighter or darker in pigment after the peel. Occasionally these pigment changes can be permanent. Rare complications include allergic reaction to the chemical product, which could include anaphylaxis requiring emergency medical attention. Bacterial infection of the skin (cellulitis) or reactivation of herpes virus infections. Permanent scarring is also a rare possibility. For eyeliner PMU procedure there is a rare risk of eye injury which may include corneal abrasions or corneal scarring (which may lead to visual impairment). Eye infection or inflammation is also possible. In the event of any eye complications, you must seek urgent medical attention. Eye drops may be used before and after the treatment to help protect your eyes.
